Today on my walk around Ubud I offer my three reasons Ubud is the perfect place to retire. From its affordability to its location as well as it’s cultural underpinnings, I believe Ubud is one of the best places to retire in all of Southeast Asia.
I meet a photographer couple who have just arrived in Ubud and discuss with them their work as well as their first impressions of Ubud and its people. I ask if they would consider retiring to Ubud which is something they’re already begun asking themselves.
On my walk I also meet a man building some rooms on his property which he is happy to show me and explain the cost and how long the project will take to complete.
Finally I buy flowers and petals from a roadside seller I’ve seen for years as she has always smiled and been humble when I’ve passed. I chat with a young woman at the stall also and ask about her needs for the flowers.
