Boeing has developed various airplane families throughout its long experience with jet aircraft. These “prototypes” were operated by Boeing to test new technologies, such as the 777-9’s famous “folding wingtips.” They are also built to test new aircraft systems to ensure safety before releasing the aircraft to airlines.
Of course, aviation enthusiasts have been interested in these prototypes since they mark the beginning of new eras. We all wish that these prototypes would end up in museums for our enjoyment and education, but unfortunately that’s not always the case.
Some are involved in tragic accidents, scrapped, or forgotten by history. While the lucky few are preserved and displayed across the globe, for the public to see.
In this video, you the viewer can expect to see the fates of Boeing’s prototype airplanes, and where they reside today.
