This video explains glomerulations in Bladder Pain Syndrome (BPS), also known as Interstitial Cystitis (IC).
Glomerulations are pinpoint submucosal hemorrhages seen on cystoscopy, typically after bladder hydrodistension, and are commonly associated with Bladder Pain Syndrome. While not pathognomonic, their presence can support the diagnosis in patients presenting with chronic pelvic pain, urinary frequency, urgency, and dysuria in the absence of infection or other identifiable causes.
The video highlights:
Definition and appearance of glomerulations
Cystoscopic findings in BPS/IC
Clinical relevance and diagnostic significance
Differential diagnosis and limitations of glomerulations
Role of cystoscopy in evaluation of chronic bladder pain
