#shorts In this video, Matthew Iwama breaks down the two main categories of LMIA-Exempt Work Permits in Canada:
Open Work Permits – These allow workers to work for any employer in Canada. Common examples include Post-Graduation Work Permits (PGWP), Spouse Open Work Permits for high-wage workers, and Bridging Open Work Permits (BOWP).
Employer-Specific Work Permits – These require submission through the Employer Portal and a $230 Employer Compliance Fee, but do not need an LMIA.
