How a Christian Should Read or Listen the Holy Scriptures
It is essential to remember that when we read or hear the Holy Scriptures
with the right disposition, we receive the fruit of salvation. But if we
approach the Holy Scriptures carelessly or irreverently, we can
bring harm to our souls rather than blessing.
Approach with Reverence and Prayer
We must read or listen to the Holy Scriptures as the very word of God.
This means approaching them with reverence, humility, and prayer—
asking the Lord to grant us the grace of understanding.
Since the Scriptures were written by men inspired by the Holy Spirit, they can only be truly understood with the illumination of that same Spirit.
