Bihari Nenua (Sponge Gourd) chutney: Bihari Black chutney
Presenting another chutney recipe from our chutney series. This is a special black chutney made by using charred sponge gourd. One needs the below ingredients to make this chutney
Serves 4 people
Preparation time: 10 mins
1. Nenua (Sponge gourd): 2 pieces
2. Chilli: 3 nos
3. Garlic:2-3 cloves
4. Mustard oil- 1 tbsps
5. Salt to taste
The sponge gourd needs to be charred in direct flame. Let it cool down and remove the charred skin. Put the rest of the pulp in the grinder along with garlic, chilli and salt. Once grounded to paste add mustard oil. This chutney can be enjoyed with both rice or chapatis. Do let us know if you enjoyed making this chutney and we would love to see the pictures.
