Line boring and Bore welding CAT 789 Dump Truck suspension part | Sir Meccanica WS2

Описание: In this video we are line boring and bore welding to repair a Caterpillar 789 Dump Truck part. This is the rear strut suspensio rod on the dump truck and the bearing has destroyed the eye. We are using our Sir Meccanica WS2 portable in-line boring and bore welding machine. First we need to grind out as much of the bearing material that is in the eye before setting up and tack welding on the bearing mounts for positioning the line boring machine. We need to line bore out the eye material before bore welding to build up new material and then boring out to spec. The eye is then ready for facing, cutting the chamfers and snap ring grooves before drilling in the holes for the grease port. The job is completed by cleaning up the eye surfaces and press fitting the new bearing into the eye using our hydraulic press.
