A summer camp leader who crushed up drugs and injected them into sweets for children has been jailed for 23 years and ten months.
Former vet and church-goer Jon Ruben pleaded guilty to 17 offences relating to incidents at the camp at Stathern Lodge in Leicestershire which he ran for 27 years.
A number of children fell ill at the camp near Melton Mowbray last year. Emergency services attended the scene the day after receiving the report.
Eight children aged between eight and 11, were taken to hospital as a precaution, said police.
