Today was another long water carry. Normally, it wouldn’t be so bad but it was quite toasty. I decided to stop at a gap for a break and I am glad I took a long break. I was about to leave and Sponge came along to take a break. He was doing a section hike. We sat and I stayed way longer than I had planned, but I am glad I did. We had a great conversation and those types of moments are why I am out here on this trail. Don’t tell Sponge but Karma, Not Yet and I think he will be doing a thru hike one day!

Right before camp, I passed Laurel Creek and I thought to myself “Oh that would be lovely to soak my feet in before bed.” I went and set up camp and apparently all of us had the same idea to camp in this spot. I believe there was about 10+ of us camping there that night. I finished setting up camp and as I was eating dinner when the darn thunderstorm (I thought was going to happen way earlier in the day.) came rolling in. Needless to say, I didn’t get to soak my feet. Oh boy, my new shoes couldn’t come soon enough.
