Got this on a ride to Goodwill one day, along with a few other things. I wanted to leave it a bit at first, but it was really starting to grow on me lol. When I got it, nothing moved... So what I did was that one retarded method Mr Moe showed a while back, where if the motor is locked up in the foot/shaking mech, you just slam the spinning part of the foot a buncha times until it moves. Of course, that didn't even work. BUT, it somehow unlocked the arm/leg motor. So, I had to open the mech up to see what was inside. The mech is super complicated and exclusive to this item, but I don't know how to really explain it in text, so I guess you can check out my annoying ass Find & Repair video on my LiQlips channel. Be warned, I'm fucking annoying to talk to for over an hour or so...
The motor for the spinning/shaking is QUITE LITERALLY a 2 SIDED MOTOR with 2 MOTORSHAFT GEARS on it.. So when held longways, the motor has one 10 tooth on the right side, and one 10 tooth on the left side. I didn't find this out myself, but someone sent me a Discord message showing me that. That's the motor that always gets stuck. So, the sheer best you can do to that one-of-a-kind motor is spin it with your hands to unlock it. But, after that, it was pretty much done. Yes, the foot squeaks, but that's because the relay switch thingy is kinda iffy in that area. It was working fine without the skin fully on, but when the skin's back on, it doesn't register. I'll probably go back into it someday. Oh, and the spinning foot has a relay switch in it, interestingly enough. I think it works like this: If the relay switch clicks a certain amount of times, that's the motor's cue to stop moving.
The relay switches in this are weird too. When the motor doesn't hit the relay switch a certain amount of times and it just stops spinning on its own, there's a bunch of motor withdrawal and it continues for a few extra seconds or so. But, when it stops because of the relay switch clicks, it stops as SOON as it stops, and it doesn't just kinda glide like it does when nothing gets hit. Very, very strange. Come to think of it, I don't even think the "Dance with Elmo" version even has a relay switch in the foot; I have never ever seen them stop spinning early like this model. I think Rocky867 actually showed me a patent to this guy's mechanism at one point, which is really cool. But, I didn't really grasp any information from it, it's just something you gotta see in person to really understand it.
This thing's something I'm glad to have again. I once had one in 2019, I got it from Goodwill as well. Only the arm & leg worked, but one time, I got it to spin & shake. But, it didn't last very long, since it stopped doing that after like a 3rd activation. I never saw it do that again, I was very confused. But, I remember that one having black plastic on the inside, while this one was just plain white, surprisingly. The fabric is way shinier and cleaner feeling, like, this is probably the best model to have. The pitch is absolutely perfect too, it brings me nostalgia to the many ones I've seen on YouTube a few years back, lol.
