Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin today in Cairo.
STORYLINE:
Sameh Shoukry meets with his Ukrainian counterpart, Pavlo Klimkin today at the foreign ministry.
Klimkin is on a two day visit to Cairo to discuss with the latest developments in the Syrian crisis, the situation in Libya and ways to boost Ukrainian-Egyptian bilateral cooperation.
In a joint press conference following their meeting Klimkin affirms his country's support of Egypt's efforts to counter the expansion aspirations of militant groups.
"We keep supporting Egypt on fighting terrorism because it's not a challenge for one country, it is not a challenge for one region, it's a global one," he says.
The two ministers also stressed their keenness to support the economic and trade relations between the two countries as the main shield for bilateral relations.
The volume of trade exchange between the two countries was estimated at 2.4 billion US dollars in 2017.
