The station opened on April 17, 2012.

Fun Facts: The highlight of Toledo station is a massive structure called the 'Crater of Light' (Crater de Luz). This cylindrical installation showers light from the street level down to the deep platforms, filling the dark underground space with a bright and mystical atmosphere. The light pouring from the ceiling creates the illusion of looking at stars in the sky, offering a sense of wonder to everyone who enters the station. Thousands of blue and white mosaic tiles covering the entire station give visitors a mystical feeling, as if they've been invited underwater. This artwork, which depicts the movement of ocean waves and light, changes its hue with every step, transforming the typically boring subway commute into an artistic experience.
(14:59) - A cosmic ray detector has been installed, developed at the INFN National Laboratories of San Grasso. The detector is a real telescope, able to show the invisible particles – cosmic rays – that are constantly arriving on Earth, emitted by the Sun or stars or even more distant from the earliest moments of the Universe. Even at this level, 40 meters below the surface, the electronic eye of the detector makes them visible to the public with the lighting of photo detectors which are connected LEDs that emit flashes of light at each step.
