Here is a brief video talking a little about the considerations when teaching a young horse to picket. The horse I show in the video stayed on the picket for about an hour. During that time, he did get himself in "trouble" once. As planned, the tire moved and he suffered no serious injury, sprain, rope burn, or even lost hair.
