'The NDRF Team Has Helped A Lot': Fazilka Flood Victim Kuldeep Singh Praises Rescue Efforts

According to local resident Kuldeep Singh, about 50% of the people have evacuated, but there are now reports of 'thefts happening in the houses' that have been left behind. The situation remains critical with an estimated 25,000 to 30,000 people still stuck in the affected areas. Rescue operations are underway, with 120 NDRF personnel and five boats deployed. So far, 4,000 people have been rescued. The reporter, Aman Bhargava, noted that the water level of the Satluj has risen dramatically from a normal of 5-10 feet to 60-70 feet and that 23 districts in Punjab are affected by the flood.
