Now for the underwater section! ...Great!
This area is trimmed down quite a bit in later installments. You get an item that allows you to see in the dark, which lets you solve a simple number puzzle to progress. Then you have to get two items by swimming through other areas (ideally after getting the oxygen tank to breath indefinitely) and bring them back to progress to the next one. Everything but the oxygen tank is cut in later versions. There's either no area to get through, or the area is still there but you get items instead of key items.
Doku put up quite a fight at the end. It's nice Flying Swallow can work on him, but I did end up relying on the old tried and true wall jump attack by the end of it. Ryu's slowness makes it difficult to dodge his grab, but at least his grab doesn't heal him much if you do get hit by it. Dabi worked well for me, especially once I started wall jumping.
