One of the most frequent questions we get is "What is Wheel Offset"? It turns out, that wheel offset seems to be confusing a solid group of you out there, so we came out with our Quick & Easy Explanation videos - a series of informationals that get right to the point.
Today, we're breaking down a similar measurement... Wheel Backspacing. In our video of wheel offset, we learned that OFFSET is measure as the distance between the mounting pad and the centerline of the wheel. Similarly, Wheel Backspacing is measured as the distance from the mounting pad to the rear edge or flange of the wheel.
Backspacing can be particularly useful when sizing wheels for off-road SUVs and Trucks because it's useful to know how much inbound clearance you have when fitting new wheels to your truck.
