According to reports, the bribe was allegedly demanded for approving a bill related to water pipeline work. The accused engineer had reportedly been caught in a bribery case earlier in 2021 as well. His monthly salary is said to be around ₹1.70 lakh, raising serious questions over corruption in the system.
