In this video we will learn about the special Clownfish Sea Anemone relationship.
The magnificent coral reef is one of the most diverse and populated ecosystems on the planet. For the little clownfish, this means it faces a variety of different predators. Some like the lionfish, have venomous spines. While others like the reef shark are bigger and faster adversaries.
Lucky for the clownfish, it has a symbiotic relationship with the sea anemone to protect it from predators. Its skin is immune to the stinging venom of the anemones waving tentacles. In return, the clown fish helps to keep the sea anemone clean and free from parasites.
A hungry lionfish tries to cleverly sneak up to some clown fish on the reef. On sensing danger, they quickly dash into the safety of the sea anemones stinging tentacles.
Once the danger has passed the clownfish return to their chores of keeping their host clean and tidy.
