Bangor Co Down seafront has been given a facelift with some unique commissioned street art. Anyone visiting Bangor town over the past week may have noticed some spectacular wall art appearing on various sites close to the seafront. Colourful and creative art pieces have been used to transform empty walls and unloved spaces. The project is part of this year’s Seaside Revival celebrations, and is a collaboration between Open House Festival, Street Art specialists Seedhead Arts, and Boom Studio, Bangor. Ards and North Down Borough Council really deserve a pat on the back for supporting this welcome spruce up. I love this street art!
Seaside Revival Street Art Murals
We have-
1 Guillemot,' by Dan Leo, from Dublin, which is appropriately painted on the side of the Guillemot Kitchen Café at the bottom of Victoria Road
2 'Irish Mermaid Muirgen', by Bangor based artist, Friz. Bregenz House
3 ‘Sand Junes and Salty Air’, by Dublin artist Holly Pereira at Holborn Avenue
4 An as yet untitled fun piece by Belfast artist Kev Largey at the back of Donnegan’s Bar.
5 The fifth piece, by London artist Irony, will appear later in the summer.
