Minnesota fraud to be investigated by Congress amid new allegations

An influx of officers from Immigration and Customs Enforcement was also sent to Minnesota to help investigate, since many of those accused of fraud of part of the Somali community.
And on January 13, DHS announced the termination of Somalia’s designation for Temporary Protected Status (TPS), to go into effect on March 17, 2026.
Speaking to reporters from the White House Briefing room Tuesday, President Trump spoke about the allegations.
"Nobody talks about the fact that $19 billion is missing in Minnesota, given to a large degree by Somalians. They’ve taken it.”
In an interview with Sinclair at the White House. Todd Lyons, the Acting Director of ICE, said, "If you think back to what really brought us to Minneapolis specifically, was $9 billion of fraud. Homeland Security Investigations special agents were on the ground doing that. That's still our goal. We're going to go ahead and hold those accountable for that lost taxpayer money."
After some state officials pointed the finger at Gov. Tim Walz, D, Minnesota for allowing the fraud to carry on for years, Walz dropped out of the governors race earlier this month.
“Every minute that i spend defending my own political interest would be a minute I can't spend defending the people of Minnesota," he said.
The conservative social media influencer Nick Shirley is now out with a new video, focusing on non-emergency medical transportation companies which receive taxpayer money to take people to and from appointments.
