The short answer is YES — but only if you clean it properly first. In this video, I'm showing you the exact 3-step purification process that takes dirty, smelly cooking oil and transforms it into usable soap-making oil.⚠️

SPOILER ALERT: This is a LOT of work. But if you're curious about the science, sustainability, or just want to experiment — this is how you do it right.

STEP 1: Filtering
Remove all food particles, crumbs, and sediment using coffee filters or cheesecloth. This is the baseline — if you skip this, everything else fails.

STEP 2: Water Washing
The game-changer. Mix your filtered oil with hot water. Odors, water-soluble impurities, and residual food particles transfer into the water phase. Separate the layers, discard the water.

STEP 3: Activated Charcoal Treatment
Add food-grade activated charcoal to the oil and heat gently. The charcoal absorbs remaining impurities, colors, and odors. Filter again to remove the charcoal. What you're left with is significantly cleaner oil.
