Calibration segment begins 4:30 into video or watch my SHORT VERSION VIDEO • Calibrating Accuteck postal scale SHORT VE... This long version has more talking, information, Demonstrations, tips and ideas, not just how to calibrate Accuteck postal scales. It shows other user features and benefits
Accuteck ShipPro 8550 110lbs x 0.1 oz. Digital Shipping Postal Scale
This video should also be helpful in calibrating similar Accuteck scales like the Accuteck PT50, Accuteck All-in-one, DreamBlack, PT70, PT85 and other scales.
I bought this scale and was trying to figure out calibration and looked for videos that showed to calibrate the Accuteck W-8580-110B postal scales, but did not see any.... so I spent some time figuring out Accuteck scale calibration and then made this video for you to save you some time.
To calibrate 1) push and hold the the "weight button" and then push and hold the on/off button..... wait 3 seconds... until the random numbers display 2) then push just the on/off button and "ZEro"(zero) will display on the screen. 3) then push the correct button on the unit to set the "Known Weight" you will use to calibrate the scale.
This weight must be at least 5 pounds and must be a round number. It can be 5 pounds or 7 pounds or 30 pounds or 70 pounds... but it must be a round weight number. It can NOT be fractional 5.55 or 7.75 or 30.3 or 70.93. There can be no extra fractions of a pound.
4) After setting the known weight which you will be using to calibrate on the display screen 5) then place your known weight (box) on the scale and it will automatically do the calibration and then display the word "PASS" on the screen.
The main reason I bought a postal scale was to take advantage of the 15%(+/-) postage discount one can receive if you print your own postage label, but we need to know the weight in order to do that.
There is some other information in the video e.g. how to use the scale to make sure your packing materials are not pushing the package into the next "higher postage" level (meaning when you weigh your package if it is slighlty over the limit ( 0.1 pounds over into the next postage rate) then you might be able to remove some of the stuffing to keep the over all weight down in the lower postage rate.
The video also shows how to use the "HOLD" button and the "TARE"button.
Use the "HOLD" button to display the weight results for 10 seconds after you remove the item. This can be helpful for scales when the weighed box covers the display screen when weighing it.
Use the TARE button to "zero out" the scale after you have placed a box(or other container) on the scale. This allows you to fill the box with 1 pound of material not including the weight of the box(or other container).
