Bre Brunson has type 1 diabetes and at one point in her life, she felt so much pressure “to look like Nicki Minaj” that she would intentionally spike her sugar just so she could lose a few pounds. However, despite that, being told she would go to hell for being a lesbian by her mother, and the subsequent fear she still grapples with, Bre has come to understand that her beauty comes from a profound sense of compassion for others and most importantly, for herself. She now feels proud that it’s her soul that could “steal your man.”
