Yale Center Beijing is delighted to host Odd Arne Westad, Elihu Professor of History and Global Affairs at Yale, for a discussion on his latest book, Empire and Righteous Nation: 600 Years of China-Korea Relations, exploring how Korea’s relationship with China has developed over the past 600 years.
Professor Westad is a scholar of modern international and global history, with a specialization in the history of East Asia since the 18th century. Westad has published sixteen books, most of which deal with twentieth-century Asian and global history.
Yale Center Beijing opened on October 27, 2014. As the first such center opened by Yale University anywhere in the world, Yale Center Beijing is dedicated to developing leaders from all sectors of society and all regions of the globe.
