Описание: China-appointed Panchen Lama Gyaltsen Norbu is facing strong backlash from Tibetans in exile after stating that all reincarnation processes in Tibetan Buddhism must comply with Chinese laws and receive Beijing’s approval.

Tibetans widely regard Gyaltsen Norbu as a Chinese-appointed figure, lacking religious legitimacy. Reacting sharply, Tibetan Youth Congress President Tsering Chomphel said Tibetans are completely against the statement and accused the Chinese government of politicising the sacred tradition of reincarnation.

Meanwhile, Lhagyari Namgyal Dolkar, a member of the Tibetan Parliament in exile, said the remarks hold no religious authority, political legitimacy, or historical basis.

China continues to assert exclusive control over the identification of future Tibetan spiritual leaders, directly challenging centuries-old Tibetan traditions. The Dalai Lama has repeatedly stated that his reincarnation will take place in a free country, outside the reach of Chinese interference.
