Описание: Perhaps never before have I willingly visited the Sonoran Desert with June around the corner. But with healthy flow in the Upper Salt a week after permit season, now was the time. Being able to travel through this ecosystem in a season that's usually far too hot was an absolute treat. The warm water made paddling through endless rapids a delightful experience, but the most unique part was seeing the desert in late-stage superbloom, with saguaro, ocotillo, and palo verde as happy as they get. All this warmth and flowering made the bugs excited too, which led this to be one of the best birding experiences I've had yet. Warblers, orioles, and doves sang constantly from the forested riverbanks. A diving peregrine nearly missed its magpie victim, deploying parachute just a few feet above the water.
