A bit of timber hewing with my favorite tools is a GREAT way to start a week! Few things are more satisfying than seeing an ugly and rough chunk of wood transformed into a beautiful and FUNCTIONAL timber. Of course, this is just another fence post so it’s not subject to the same high standards of most timber work.
Saving old materials from the wreckage of a collapsed barn has been another favorite activity for me over the past few years. But this door has a history that, until I pieced it together, was totally lost. A future restoration project? Absolutely! It’s a piece of my family’s history and deserves to be preserved.
