ICON is a new approach to treatment of fluorosis. This micro-invasive technology changes the optical properties of the enamel without drilling or anaesthesia.
Fluorosis is a chronic condition marked by mottling of the teeth. It's caused by overexposure to fluoride during the first eight years of life when most permanent teeth are being formed. After the teeth come in, the teeth of those affected by fluorosis may appear mildly discoloured. This can be easily masked using non-invasive, affordable and pain-free techniques. There is no need to shave or cut the teeth and use veneers to hide the problem.
