This is the Event Quest "Ode to the Destruction" with a Tempered Ruiner Nergigante as the Quest Target.
Nergigante was always one of those monsters that I didn't necessarily go out of my way to fight, but I always seemed to end up in hunts against him in multiplayer. After a while the big, spiky, brute grew on me, and we've been regular sparring partners ever since.
