Hi and welcome (back) to the second part of our house hunting adventure in Northern Norway! In this new section of our journey here in Norway, we take you on a house tour of the home we’ve been renting for a year and explore two more houses that are on the market, wondering if we’ll find our dream home. Still being in the midst of the procedures to secure a loan, we compare these potential new homes to our current place and weigh the pros and cons of each, knowing that we could unfortunately not place any bids yet in our house hunt.
First, we visit a house in a stunning location, nestled between fjord and mountains in a very calm area. This house is in great condition, with no mold problems, and though some rooms have an older style, it’s the most expensive and southerly option we’ve seen so far. Next, we get on another house tour an older property with a mix of renovated and older sections. Despite its charm, the biggest issue is moisture in the foundations and a lack of proper maintenance (mostly cleaning) over the years. So, we’re definitely not buying this one!
Everything seems to push us towards buying the cabin home we’re renting as it is in very good condition for the price and we are so in love with the wonderful mountains and nature that surrounds us. Hopefully, the administrative stuff will follow soon. Join us as we navigate this exciting yet daunting process of transitioning from renting to buying our dream home / cabin in the beautiful landscapes of Northern Norway.
