This is a compilation of several fishing trips where I caught different species of fishes. Most of the fish were caught on live bait (pinfish) with the exception of one snook, caught on a broken back minnow lure. Also, almost all of the footage was recorded near bridges in South West Florida, except one short clip of a mangrove snapper being caught around some rocks on an very small artificial spoon.
You will see me catching snook, jack carvalle, mangrove snapper, gag and black grouper. I also included a few times when I hooked into very big fish that I lost.
The reason I compiled these various fishing clips is because things don't always go as planned when recording video footage while fishing. Sometimes I forget certain equipment that I need for the Gopro and can't get quality recordings. Other times I only catch a couple of small fish that wouldn't really make for a featured video.
So, I save the recordings and compile them to make for an interesting fishing adventure. All of the fishing footage has been set to music.
Fishing for snook is one of my passions in life. Catching them is even better. I always seem to catch a variety of fishes though, probably more grouper than anything, both black and gag. Mangrove snapper are next in line for the most popular fish that I catch. The jack carvalle in this video was such a shocker when I saw him on the line. I very rarely catch jacks.
If you've watch a few of my videos, you know that I love to use pinfish for bait. Occasionally I will use shrimp depending upon what species of fish I'm targeting. I find that using decent size bait fish, usually around three and a half to five inches long, eliminates a lot of the smaller fish. In South West Florida we have a lot of snook, trout, redfish, grouper, jacks, mangrove snapper and tarpon during early spring months. All of these types of fish will hammer pinfish when they are feeding.
Depending upon the size of the bait I'm fishing with and the water clarity I might rig with twenty to fifty pound fluorocarbon leader with varying hook sizes from one ought to five. Sometimes I will use a swivel, but normally I tie my reel line directly to the leader. I'm kind of old school and fish with monofilament line on my spinning reels. If you were wondering what the best line is for fishing in saltwater, brad or monofilament, I say do some research as to where you should use either of those type lines and try them out. I've just caught tens of thousands of fish on monofiliment fishing line over a fifty some year period and don't really like the idea of using brad due to visibility of the line. So if you've watched some of my videos you will see that I don't really have much of a problem catching snook, grouper or mangrove snappers using mono.
I hope you enjoy these fishing outings as much as I enjoy making them. Please take a second to subscribe to my channel. I'm just starting out here on Youtube and need all the help I can get.
