Diggers and dumper: day 5 and ooops

This video, and the rest filmed during the week, were a record of our week creating the track - we never imagined the video would attract millions of viewings. It's a pity that some of our many armchair 'advisers' and commentators can't give us credit for tackling the work ourselves using the only and limited range of plant available from the closest hire centre. Even this was then restricted to sizes which could be delivered via narrow single-track lanes to a remote, rural meadow - but then it is very easy to make comments from the comfort of an armchair at home, isn't is...?! :o) As for using the digger to lift the tipped dumper, this was trapped on the other side of a fresh delivery of several tonnes of stone!

Now, 4 years later, the track is still standing firm, flat, has survived all weather including frost, floods and snow, and is in regular use. Should we build another in the future, we won't be using the same design of dumper, which wasn't the type we hoped for and wanted one with a lower centre of gravity, but we will certainly be doing the work ourselves - with care, tuition and a greater regard for safety.
