'We'll Fire Back In Self-Defence': Manipur DGP's Stern Warning To Armed Miscreants

State DGP Mukesh Singh has issued a strong warning, saying security forces will retaliate in self-defence against anyone who fires upon them. The police chief also stated that nearly 70% of the weapons looted from state armouries since the ethnic violence began have now been recovered.

The warning comes amid continuing security operations across the state and intensified efforts to curb misinformation on social media.

However, fresh concerns have emerged after at least three people were injured in an exchange of fire between armed groups in Kangpokpi district. The incident has triggered strong reactions from Kuki organisations, which have demanded immediate action and greater protection for civilians.
