how much it is above or below the average
I am good at maths (1 means not at all , 8 means very good) – mean is 4 and SD is 2. If I rate myself 8 it means it is 8-4=4. It is more than SD by 2.
The mean of any distribution of Z scores is always 0.
Sum of positive and negative scores is zero
Standard Deviation of Z Score distribution is 1
If a distribution of raw scores is positively skewed, the distribution of Z scores will also be positively skewed.
