The continued existence of your business may depend on what happens to Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act (CDA). The CDA could get revoked by President Trump's Executive Order. This video discusses what happened between the President and Twitter, the Executive Order and what you need to start thinking about if the repeal of Section 230 was to happen.
This video is for anyone that uses social media to marketing their products or services on sites such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and others.
About Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act
Section 230 has a number of provisions, by chief among these is blanket liability protection for internet companies for the comments, posts and other related activity of the users of the service. This Act has allowed companies such as Twitter, Facebook and others to grow, free from the risk that something posted by their subscribers could somehow cause a legal liability for the social media service provider.
Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act has been the subject of many debates since it came into existence in 1996 and neither political party seem to fully embrace the Act in 2020.
