It’s been a weekend of reflection, listening and learning. Juneteenth was celebrated on Friday and the words of Dr. Daina Ramey Berry echo through my brain: “…how can I, in my little corner of the world, make change happen and make generations that come after me experience a more just and whole society?…”

We can all ask that of ourselves, as a cause, as a mission, as a prayer.

Yesterday, Saturday, was World Refugee Day, and I want to highlight the Womens Refugee Commission ( https://www.womensrefugeecommission.org) for their continued efforts to improve the lives of migrants and refugees around the world.

Yesterday was also the summer solstice, and today is Father’s Day...

At the end of last summer I went into the studio with my producer friend Jamie Mefford (Gregory Alan Isakov, Nathaniel Rateliff) and recorded this song “Our Man Walter Cronkite”. It contrasts the times we are living in with a look back to when the legendary journalist of the title was considered the Most Trusted Man In America, when the entire world held it’s breath as Neil Armstrong stepped foot on the moon and Beatles songs played in our house 24/7 …

Our friend the celebrated photojournalist Pete Souza sent me a note the other day suggesting that now would be a good time to hear this song again, and I wholeheartedly agree.
