When my channel went down the first time, I decided to nuke my collection and re-process them from scratch given the amount of improvement upscaling had made since most of my videos were uploaded. This was not an easy decision since it meant a LOT more processing time; my current workflow easily takes 20 times more time to process an episode than the one I used way back for the first Tiga uploads. On the bright side though, the output is much better than what it was before. Yep, I know you're probably tired of my (shameless) self-promotion at this point, but there's a very good reason why I didn't pick the easy way out by just recreating my channel as is.

So I'm re-processing TV episodes, but movies are a slightly different story. These have better picture quality than TV episodes and don't necessarily have to be processed by the usual workflow, which also means that you don't have to wait for the heat death of the universe in order to see a full Ultra series appear in its upscaled glory. So I will be releasing the ones that I have every now and then when I have the time.

I know this right here is the first of the Cosmos movie trilogy, but to be frank I almost didn't want to release it in its current form. Unlike the TDG trilogy, these were never released on Blu-Ray and cannot compare in terms of picture quality, which in turn makes them fairly hard to upscale to my liking. The only saving grace is that they're likely better than whatever we have on official media, at least until the series is released on Blu-ray next year (THANK YOU BIG TSU). And yes, I will be re-doing my upscales for these movies then, as long as the source proves to be better quality than the DVDs.
