DIY Detail has released their brand new 1, 3, 5, and 8 year ceramic coatings featuring tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) technology which is supposed to provide resistance to fracturing. Fracturing causes coatings to lose performance even if they're still present on the surface of your paint. DIY Detail refers to these new coatings as Type 3 in contrast to their earlier Type 2 offerings. We will be testing all 4 products for ease of use, visual appeal, slickness, durability, contact angle, hydrophobicity, and specular reflection.
