What is an Estate Liquidation Sale?
Estate sale is when the estate is looking to liquidate everything in the house but in some cases they are not looking to liquidate everything because you have family members that come in and they may want some items that are personal to them and so that is the first thing I tell them. Go in there and get the items that are personal to you. Even if you are on the fence with something take it now because you can always sell it at a later time. The last thing we want to do is sell something that they didn't want sold. So when that happens, we come in and do a total estate sale and we pull everything from the cabinets and make sure we find all the hidden treasures and get it out and put it on tables and organize it. There is definitely a method to an estate sale. You always want to make it look full. It is real important that everything is priced because if you don't have everything price, then you start to let things go to cheaply and that is not looking after their best interest. So it is key to get everything priced and displayed properly so you get the most money for the inventory which in turn we give them the most money at the end of the sale. It really comes down to where you only have two days to sell everything so people will say I wish I would have priced it a bit higher but you only have two days to sell it but we want to make sure that we priced to move. If you don't sell it you're not making any money. We also help clean out the house, if everything does sell we give them an option of making sure the house gets what we call broom swept. Everything out of the house and donate it to a charity of their cause or a local charity. It could be a tax right off. We try and liquidate everything for them. That's right
