Avakkai Pickle:
Ingredients:
Raw & Sour Mango with thick skin - 6 nos (medium)
Chilly Powder - 1cup
Mustard Powder - 1cup
Uluva/Menthaya Powder - 1/2cup
Refined Oil - 1 1/2 to 2cup
Salt - 1cup
Method:
Wash the mangoes well, wipe it with a cloth without moisture and cut it in to medium big sized pieces with skin. In a bowl, put the mango pieces and all the ingredients, mix together. Do not add water. Take a jar or bottle without moisture, pour the pickle in it, mix well, close with lid tightly and keep aside. Stir once a week and keep it aside for 3 months so that the spices gets completely absorbed in the mango pieces. Fresh and Homemade Avakkai is ready to be served😊
