This video is from one of eight DVDs of the Sydney World Shakuhachi Festival 2008 (WSF08), created by Lindsay Dugan and produced by Riley Lee.
In this video, Kinuta Sugomori 碪巣籠 by Kodō Araki V 五代荒木古童, a legend in the world of traditional Japanese music (邦楽). The performance was part of the "World Masters Concert" held at City Recital Hall Angel Place Sydney.

This series of videos allow us to relive some of the main concerts and workshops held during Sydney’s World Shakuhachi Festival 2008. These Festivals are the largest international gatherings of shakuhachi performers, teachers, players and students in the history of the shakuhachi.
WSF08 offered over 70 events, including concerts, workshops, lectures, panel discussions and other shakuhachi-related activities over four and a half days, presented by well over 100 performers, teachers and lecturers representing five continents. WSF08 featured at least 10 world premiers and more than twice as many Australian premiers.
