David Hamilton
Co-Founder, Hamilton Mehta Productions (MODERATOR)
David is the producer of the Oscar nominated film Water, directed by Deepa Mehta. He has also collaborated with Deepa Mehta to produce the critically acclaimed feature films Fire and Earth which he sold in conjunction with United Artists to over 40 countries worldwide. Hamilton produced Mehta's films Bollywood/Hollywood, A Heaven on Earth, and Midnight's Children, based on the Booker prize winning novel by Salman Rushdie of the same name. He has also produced the feature documentary Forgotten Woman, and the comedy Cooking with Stella directed by Dilip Mehta, and executive produced Lunch With Charles, a Hong Kong-Canadian coproduction starring Sean Lau and Bif Naked. A strong supporter of the arts, Hamilton has been an active member of the board of directors of the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra, School of Dance and was chairman of the Ottawa International Writers Festival.
Isabel Davis
Head of International, British Film Institute
Davis transferred to the BFI in April 2011 after joining the UK Film Council in late 2006. She combines an editorial role in the Film Fund with responsibility for the BFI's international strategy, coordinating the full range of the organisation's activity. She plays a key role in the negotiation of co-production treaties and maintains and fosters co-production relationships with all of the UK's partner countries. Prior to joining the UK Film Council, Isabel was Head of Development at HomeRun, during which time she developed a slate of film and TV projects. Before working in film, Isabel worked in various roles in theatre and the performing arts, including press, fundraising and general management.
Cornelia Hammelmann
Head of International, British Film Institute
After her professional education as a trilingual European Secretary and Foreign language correspondent, she started her career in 1987 as a film and tv production assistant, worked free-lance for several tv and cinema productions in Germany and abroad, and for five years for a German-American film rights acquisition and sales company in Hamburg. From July 2000 to January 2012, she has been the Managing Director of MEDIA Desk Germany, the main German information office to the MEDIA Programme of the European Union. Since February 1st, 2012, Cornelia Hammelmann is the Project Director of the German Federal Film Fund (DFFF) .
Roberto Olla
Executive Secretary, Eurimages
Roberto Olla was trained as a lawyer, specialising in entertainment law (PhD) and film production. He began his career as a researcher in media law at the European University Institute in Florence before moving to Brussels where he joined the distribution department of the MEDIA Programme. A few years later, he was appointed as legal advisor on audio-visual matters by the European Commission. In 2002 Roberto relocated to Strasbourg where he worked as a project manager dealing with feature films for the Eurimages co-production fund. He was named Executive Director of the Fund in 2008. Alongside his role at Eurimages, Roberto is committed to sharing his expertise and passion for independent cinema with a new generation of young professionals, lecturing at a number of training institutes and travelling widely to promote cinema co-production. Conciliating filmmaking and law has been an enduring professional goal throughout Roberto Olla's career.
