Lauachara National Park

Years go by, but the popularity of this place does not decrease. When Phileas Fogg of ``Around the World in Eighty Days'' arrived on the railway in Lauachara, people still visit it today. Tourists flock here almost throughout the year. This park is home to rare species of birds, monkeys, deer etc. Apart from having a glimpse of them, this forest is also very useful for hiking and trekking. But at that time it is better to have a local guide with you.

মৌলভীবাজার জেলার শ্রীমঙ্গল উপজেলা বাংলাদেশের চায়ের রাজধানী হিসাবে সুপরিচিত। পাহাড়ের ঢালে চা বাগানের অপূর্ব দৃশ্য ছাড়াও শ্রীমঙ্গল এবং এর আশেপাশে রয়েছে লাউয়াছড়া জাতীয় উদ্যান, গ্র্যান্ড সুলতান টি রিসোর্ট এন্ড গলফ, রাবার বাগান, হামহাম জলপ্রপাত, মাধবপুর লেক সহ আরো বেশকিছু দর্শনীয় স্থান।

ঢাকা থেকে একদিনে সহজে ভ্রমণ করা যায় বলে একদিনে শ্রীমঙ্গল ভ্রমণ অনেকের কাছেই জনপ্রিয় গন্তব্য।

বাংলাদেশের সবচেয়ে উন্নত মানের চা শ্রীমঙ্গলেই উৎপন্ন হয়ে। শ্রীমঙ্গলের প্রবেশ পথে ‘চা-কন্যা’ ভাস্কর্য দৃষ্টি কেড়ে নেবে।

লাউয়াছড়া জাতীয় উদ্যান

বছরের পর বছর যায়, তবু এ স্থানের জনপ্রিয়তা বাড়ে বৈ কমে না। সেই কবে ‍‍`অ্যারাউন্ড দ্য ওয়ার্ল্ড ইন এইটি ডেইস‍‍` এর ফিলিয়াস ফগ এসে পৌঁছেছিলেন লাউয়াছড়ার অভ্যন্তরের রেলপথে, আজও লোকে সেখানে বেড়াতে যায়। প্রায় সারা বছরই এখানে পর্যটকদের ভিড় লেগে থাকে। বিরল প্রজাতির পাখি, বাঁদর, হরিণ প্রভৃতি প্রাণীদের বাসস্থান এই উদ্যান। এদেরকে এক নজর দেখার পাশাপাশি হাইকিং ও ট্রেকিংয়ের জন্যও এ বন বেশ উপযোগী। তবে সেসময় স্থানীয় একজন গাইড সঙ্গে রাখলে ভালো হয়।
