On today’s video, we’re counting down 10 players whose careers have taken a nose-dive in recent years!

Gareth Bale’s return to Tottenham has brought goals and assists of late, but took six months to really get going, while his final years at Real Madrid suggested the Champions League winner was no longer that bothered about his football career. Former Atletico Madrid rival Diego Godín is now battling for Serie A survival with Cagliari, less than two years after leaving Diego Simeone’s side as one of its all-time greats, with a move to Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan not working out.

We also take a look at Arsenal’s Willian, who aside from a recent display at Leicester has so far disappointed at the Premier League club. And then there is Mesut Özil, who didn’t play for almost a year and is yet to show his best form with Fenerbahçe. Also included here are Barcelona’s Sergio Busquets, who is not showing the evergreen form of teammate Lionel Messi, and Diego Costa, who is currently a free agent after terminating his contract at Atletico Madrid.
