2018 Gran Canaria Wind & Waves Festival Men's
The double elimination was as blessed with wind as the single elimination and spectators and judges got incredible action to watch. Contrary to all expectations it was not the Spaniard Victor Fernandez who challenged Philip Köster for the event victory but again Marcilio Browne (BRA). Browne had defended his second place against a very strong Ricardo Campello (VEN). Even though it seemed hardly possible, the final between Köster and Browne topped everything else seen during the competition before. Both surfers showed their whole repertoire with hardly making any mistakes. It was a very close call but in the end Köster managed to defend his top position.
