New brain–computer interface (BCI) technologies are rapidly progressing from restorative prostheses to potential cognitive enhancement, while biocomputing is already using living cells for computational tasks. This session showcases emerging breakthroughs where biology and technology converge, and asks what guardrails are needed as we move toward more intimate human–machine integration.
