Nottingham Walk Reborn - Music from Silly Cover Songs

Описание: Good afternoon my beautiful friends.

So where do I start? I've been away from modelling for a few years. Unfortunately my dad became unwell and something had to go on the back burner while I cared for him till he passed away. Those few years of cold storage the railway took its toll and it was beyond its worth to repair. I also couldn’t use the railway in the garage for 5-6 months of the year due to the cold.

So I made a decision to restart the railway in the loft. Salvaging what I could from the garage layout and using it on a new layout. All at the same time an advert caught my eye for a railway in great nick but was genuinely unused. Someone near me advertised the railway and I took a look at it and I could see that the baseboards and some track had been laid but was just stored and unused. I suspect it had never been used properly. It was a total blank canvas except a wonderfully modelled river gorge. I purchased this the connecting pieces are too short for my loft but the long sides fit with bare mm to spare. My father in law Martin was invaluable with advice, muscle and woodworking skills and helped me build new connecting baseboards.

Within a few days the whole 18x10ft railway was in operation. See the video for details.

Most of the trains featured only railway were the ones my dad drove back in the 80’s & 90’s or trains I associate with my childhood days with my dad.

Why the song? Well my railway is set circa 1990 and this song was a huge hit in 1990 in the UK. My mother loved #MichaelBolton and this song #HowCanWeBeLovers was regularly played in our car when driving to holidays. So I decided to set the music to the era of my model railway.
