first, but here's the truth. They really have nothing to lose. If anything pointed back to them, they would just
claim the police planted DNA, which means once again, they are victims, and once again, they will need your support
and money. So, look at what happened in 2011. The DNA results weren't the slam dunk exoneration their PR machine
promised. The West Memphis 3 and their attorneys had items from the crime scene retested and it's still 14 years later
and they still have not made those results public. You have to ask why. So, since the results still haven't been
released, it tells me the test actually pulled a few more markers that lean toward at least one of them being
guilty. Now, not enough for definitive ID, but close enough that it was uncomfortable for the defense.
Otherwise, they'd be screaming the results from the rooftops. So, think of it like this. DNA is like a photograph.
So, in 1993, we only had a blurry snapshot. Think of a picture of Damian
Eckles. Maybe we only had his shoes and his pants. By 2011, the tech improved
and we could see a bit more. The image is starting to reveal itself. So, that picture of Damian. Now, we're starting
to see maybe the stomach, the shoulders, but everything else was blurred away.
That's not enough to 100% say that it's him. But the shirt, the pants, the shoes all match. Could it be someone else
dressed the exact same way in the exact same place at the exact time? Theoretically, sure. That's why the
prosecutors in 2011 didn't say the DNA evidence pointed to any of the West Memphis 3. It just pointed to some
blurry person who dressed just like Damian, for example. So now in 2025, the
defense knows that even with improved technology, the evidence is so degraded, the best case scenario is maybe a few
more markers, but it'll never be enough to give them a definitive match. So, what we could expect is either the tests
are going to show nothing useful and they claim victory that they're innocent or something points towards them and
then they scream corruption and we've been railroaded and planted evidence and
then they'll cash in on the sympathy. Either way, it fuels the myth, brings in more supporters, and keeps the
fundraising alive. And that's why they're retesting in 2025, not because they're innocent.
