Omotola Jalade Ekeinde ‘Omosexy’ as she’s popularly called celebrated her fortieth fabulous birthday in a most remarkable way. The five-day packed event was rounded up by an unforgettable ball which held at the prestigious Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos. It was a night of glamour that commemorated not just her fortieth birthday but her 20th Wedding Anniversary with her husband, Captain Matthew Ekeinde.
Years after becoming the United Nations World Food Programme Ambassador and a UNSDG United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Ambassador, Omotola Ekeinde received yet another award as presented by Adebola Williams, at the event. She received a United Nations Honorary Award as one of the most influential Black People in the World, in commemoration of the Decade of People of African Descend.
Notable stars in the entertainment industry were present at the event, even prominent political leaders and diplomats were all in attendance. Some of the notable guests at the event include HRH Igbinedion, Aliko Dangote, Ben Murray Bruce, Mo Abudu, Richard Mofe Damijo, Adesua Onyenokwe, Toke Makinwa, Tuface and Annie Idibia, Mabel Makun, Funke Akindele, Desmond Elliot, Susan Peters, Eucharia Anunobi, Lanre Da Silva, Uti Nwachukwu, Omowunmi Akinnifesi and a host of others.
The night was sparked with performances by Omotola herself and her band, the hosts of the event, Comedians Bovi and Tee A, the sensational D’banj, Veterans in Fuji music; King Sunny Ade and Shina Peters. The guests had a thrilling night of dance performances, music highlights, lots to eat and drink and side attractions on the red carpet.
Her grand entry into the hall was remarkably magnificent and one befitting of a queen. Trending on the social media for days unending was her stunning spin on the Video Booth by Nigeria’s First 360 Video Booth Company – Cinematics. It was an absolutely striking experience re-defining her essence as an icon in the Nollywood industry and witnessing the Hollywood Glam Themed Ball, all for Omotola.
