The servant of Moses…
And the chosen leader of Israel.

When Moses died, the mantle fell on him.
Not by vote.
Not by force.
But by the appointment of Yahweh.

Joshua led the tribes across the Jordan.
Into Canaan — the land of promise.
He conquered Jericho without a sword raised…
Only trumpets, faith, and obedience.

Town by town, valley by valley,
Joshua’s army advanced —
But not as conquerors for their own glory,
As servants fulfilling covenant.

He divided the land among the Twelve Tribes,
Each inheritance a gift from God.

But even as Canaan was taken,
The work was slow…
Gradual.
Many walled cities still stood.
The land was not seized in a day —
It was entered, step by step.
A people learning to trust…
And to dwell in promise.

Before he died, Joshua spoke one last word:
"Choose this day whom you will serve… but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."

Joshua.
A warrior.
A servant.
A witness to promise kept — and a call to covenant faithfulness.
